Arizona’s World Class Getaway: The Phoenician

Posted by Jess Dayuno on 23rd October 2008

When you think of bright sunny days filled with state-of- the-art facilities and superb service, plus a challenging golf course with a rejuvenating spa, then The Phoenician in Scottsdale, Arizona will absolutely satisfy your cravings for luxury vacation.

The Phoenician has so many things to offer to everyone. There are 454 elegantly designed guest rooms which are about 600 sq ft each, 12 luxury suites ranging from 1,200 up to 4,000 sq ft can be found from the main building.

However, if you prefer privacy, you may find the Canyon Suites better equipped for that purpose.  Each suite is beautifully designed and strategically located as to avoid other guests. Back in 1940s cosmetic tycoon Elizabeth Arden built a first class exclusive Spa for the rich and famous on the very spot where Canyon Suites is now standing.  Just like back in those days, the Canyon Suites today pamper their guests with everything they want and need.

Golf addicts will have a time of their life in there.  You can play at three different golf courses, the Desert, the Canyon and the Oasis.

After a game of golf, you can relax and have someone pamper you with soothing massages and beauty treatments that will rejuvenate your body, mind and spirit. They do have efficient and well-trained staff to the various European and Eastern treatments.

If you want to bring the kids and they are not into golf, don’t fret because there are so much activities in store for them to enjoy such as parachute play, sand sculpture, puppet shows, water slide, basketball, soccer, and many more.  They would not be bored while you putt and swing over to the three courses. By the way, the resort has pools with 165 foot water slide and manmade waterfalls. That alone will be the highlight of your kids’ vacation.

Another thing, if somebody from your family is an art lover, The Phoenician has a $25 million worth of art and antiquities which include tapestries, sculptures, paintings, furniture and even pre-historic fossils.

This 250 acre resort is under the management of Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Plan your Arizona vacation and make your reservation online.

Korakia Pensione, The Experiential Resort in Palm Springs

Posted by Jess Dayuno on 10th September 2008

When you talk about Hollywood glamour and glitz history, Palm Springs desert getaways has plenty of it and one of them is Korakia Pensione.  Since its inception up to this day, they managed to protect the privacy and confidentiality of the famous stars that stayed on the resort.

Korakia take great pride in calling itself, “the experiential resort”. The moment you step in the grounds and look at this Moroccan-inspired getaway, it will give you an impression that it is going to be an unforgettable vacation.

It is located at the very heart of Southern California desert. Korakia Pensione is a combination of a couple of historic magnificent Moroccan-inspired villas with several bungalows, cottages, gardens and pools, which all in all is around 1.5 acres of land.

This “experiential resort” gives the guests a chance to free their minds from work and all the rooms are not installed with televisions and telephones to make the vacation a distraction free retreat. However, for those who need to be connected to the outside world, the Korakia management made sure that it is WiFi equipped. The resort also offers different services and amenities which are truly fit for the Hollywood elite. Imagine yourself taking a dip into one of the heated pools at night while cinema classics are being shown on a huge screen with unique torches around the area which makes it somehow intimate and quite romantic.

Almost all the suites were designed with their own kitchen and fireplaces, which is quite wonderful because it gives an option for the guest to try to cook if they want to. However, this resort is strictly for ages 14 and above. Another no-no in the resort are pets because they are not equipped to accommodate them.

Korakia Pensione is one favorite resort of some popular people from the movie industry and has a long list of famous guests since it was built in 1924. Perhaps, the dramatic and intimate setting of the resort attracts plenty of those with artistic flair and those who love the eclectic feel of the resort. It is nor surprising anymore since one of the villas in the resort has one great Scottish painter as a former resident, Gordon Coutts.

Go and relax like the stars in this luxurious desert getaway in Palm Springs. With just a few clicks you can make your reservations online and find out why those celebrities love to take a break in this resort.
