Your vacation at the moon is farther becoming a dream, and becomes more of a reality.
UK-based Premier Inn is planning to take an option to purchase land on the moon’s 43,500 square foot site at Area E-5, Quadrant Foxtrot to build an exotic hotel in the future.
This move is seen to make the Whitbread-owned hotel group owning the first hotel to be established and opened on the moon within the next 25 years. The option to purchase was acquired by the group from Moon Estates, a lunar sales company. The company is also coordinating with Greenwich Royal Observatory lecturer Dr. John Griffiths in drawing up building plans on the moon. They are also looking forward to get information that is relevant to the their lunar property development plans from NASA’s Lunar Reconnaisance Orbitor mission that will be launched in October 2008.

While tourism is an interesting and popular reasons for lunar attraction, it is not really the main reason. According to the LUNEX group, which is a Netherlands-based international society of space advocates, other interesting future plans of habitation on the moon include having a robot moon base, a human base and lunar villages.
But due to the need for further studies on plans for lunar habitations, actual plans of building are seen to materialize a number of decades from now.
If a regular-hotel is setting up plans for lunar hotel development, would luxury resorts and hotels be left behind?

International travelers face future travels minus the hassles and worries of missing or airline tickets being left behind with IATA’s (International Air Transport Association) implementation of the airline industry’s conversion to 100% electronic ticketing.
This is not the first time for e-ticket implementation, as the first e-ticket was introduced in 1994. While international standards for e-ticketing has been implemented since 1997, global implementation has not been reached.
Calls to reach global standards in e-ticketing was formalized when IATA came up with a plan to adopt 100% e-ticketing during its 2004 Annual General Meeting in Singapore. Within the next 4 years thereafter, 150 people were deployed to IATA member-countries around the world to facilitate the plan.
The standardization is sought to be beneficial not only for the industry and international travelers, but would also be a big leap towards simplifying international travel. The industry is looking forward to annual savings of US$ 3 billion, as an airline paper ticket costs US $10 to process compared to a US$1 per electronic ticket.
Common travel hassles caused by lost tickets will now be a thing of the past, as an electronic ticket can be re-issued or changed sans actual arrangements to be made to one’s travel agency or ticket office. On top of that are other conveniences offered by online and mobile check-in options.

Top luxury hotels in the U.S. are giving their deluxe accommodations more glitz and glamour amidst the stiff competition in the hospitality business. Not only that – they make sure that they create a buzz around their presidential suite accommodations on the premise that it would not only entice celebrities, high rolling moguls and presidents to use their $30,000 a night presidential suites, but would also make the glamour of deluxe accommodations give the same effect to regular room bookings.
In Dubai, the Royal Suites at the famous Raffles Dubai costs $ 12,252 per night. Raffles Dubai recently added two new royal suites in February this year. The Four Seasons Hotel in New York invested $50 million for the hotel’s Ty Warner Penthouse which costs $30,000 a night. The Ritz-Carlton in Washington D.C. has made renovations to its luxury suites as early as last year, in anticipation of the US presidential inauguration this winter. The Setai Hotel’s $30,000 per night penthouse in Miami, Florida boasts of an infinity pool and a Steinway piano.
The Dorchester in London features an impressive 24-carat gold plate and black marble bathroom, and comes with a hairdressing room and a cinema. It costs £15,000 or about $30,000 per night, plus VAT of 17.5%.
